UAE President, Pakistan PM hold talks on economy, investment and regional stability
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nayhan and Shehbaz Sharif explore future-facing cooperation in Islamabad
DUBAI/ISLAMABAD – President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday held talks focused on enhancing cooperation between the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan.
The meeting took place during the UAE President’s official visit to Pakistan, which reflects the depth of bilateral relations and the commitment of both sides to advancing their partnership across key sectors. At the outset, Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the UAE President, describing the visit as an important step in further consolidating UAE–Pakistan ties.

Their discussions centred on strengthening collaboration in the fields of economy, investment and development in a manner that serves mutual interests and supports the two countries’ shared vision for progress and prosperity.
Economic ties
The two leaders reviewed existing frameworks of cooperation and explored ways to expand engagement in priority development sectors. Particular emphasis was placed on the economy, energy, investment and technology, with both sides highlighting the importance of translating shared objectives into practical initiatives that contribute to sustainable growth.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed the UAE’s keenness to broaden cooperation with Pakistan, underscoring the country’s continued interest in development-focused partnerships that deliver long-term benefits to both nations.
Regional issues
Beyond bilateral relations, the discussions also covered a range of regional and international developments of mutual interest. The two leaders stressed the importance of supporting efforts and initiatives aimed at promoting peace, security and stability at both regional and global levels.
The President highlighted the value of continued coordination between the UAE and Pakistan on international issues, noting that Pakistan’s current membership of the United Nations Security Council presents an opportunity to enhance joint efforts in support of peace worldwide. He reiterated the UAE’s consistent approach of resolving disputes through dialogue and diplomacy as the most effective means of overcoming challenges and fostering development and prosperity.
UAE-Pakistan relations
During the meeting, the President expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him, and highlighted the deep-rooted relations between the UAE and Pakistan. He noted the strong cultural and people-to-people ties linking the two countries, and recalled the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s longstanding commitment to strengthening relations with Pakistan.
For his part, PM Shehbaz Sharif commended the UAE’s development initiatives in Pakistan and welcomed the steady growth of bilateral ties. He also praised Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s role in promoting regional and international stability and cooperation.

The meeting was attended by members of the accompanying UAE delegation, including Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; several ministers and senior officials; and Salem Mohammed Al Zaabi, Ambassador of the UAE to Pakistan.
From the Pakistani side, attendees included Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, along with a number of ministers and senior officials.
